Creative Industries

This year's East Anglian Creative Industries Convention had the chilling theme: "The changing face of the creative industries and the rippling effect of the credit crunch".

As a keynote speaker, our Chief Exec, John Mountford, drew on his 25 years at the head of JMS, especially on lessons learnt in two previous downturns.

"On the way in to the hall, a colleague from Anglia TV joked that hoped I had the answer to it all" says John "I wish! But for the many small creative enterprises attending the Convention, I hope to dispel the myth that Creativity and Commerce don't mix - which was what we were told when we founded the company 25 years ago".

"Any creative enterprise can succeed as a business so long as you put efficient administration, client service and client retention at the top of your list. 25 years and 2 recessions later we're much larger, we're even more creative, we do loads of things we could never have predicted when we began trading, and above we're still very much in business - which I hope, on the other side of the present difficulties, will be true of every other creative enterprise at the Convention".
