LG Freeze Snowboard Tour
A lack of mountainous terrain and snow cover makes Norwich an unlikely venue for a snowboarding contest. Nevertheless it has a thriving downhill community at Norfolk Ski Club, who got totally airborne recently when the club hosted the LG Freeze Airbag Tour.

Skiers and snowboarders practiced getting air with the certainty of a soft landing on a vast airbag more frequently seen breaking the falls of stuntmen.
And their stunts were faithfully recorded in HD by our senior editor (and part-time snowboarder) Tom Mountford who within hours had put the whole thing to music and uploaded it for participants and interested onlookers worldwide.
“The great sadness was that I couldn’t take part myself, ‘cause even though I might have got away with hurtling down the slope clutching our Sony EX, I didn’t really fancy hitting the airbag with it".

Worldwide interest has been astonishing, with thousands of hits across a variety of sites within the first ten days. And as LG’s events agency is about to include Tom’s material in the tour’s concluding montage, no doubt we’ll soon be picking lots more bits of dry ski slope out of the camera!
