The Looking-glass world of Stephen Fry
One of the highlights of the pantomime season is about to go digital! The ‘Mirror, Mirror on the wall’, into which Snow White’s nemesis gazes so raptly will this year be ... a ‘virtual’ mirror. And the face of the mirror for the new Theatre Royal Panto will be none other than – Stephen Fry!
Stephen’s become something of a ‘regular’ at JMS this year for a wide variety of work but this production really was out of the ordinary.
As a result of some expert lighting in our studio, and some clever post-production in our 3D graphics suite, Stephen will, throughout December and January, mysteriously appear in the mirror, hold a conversation with the performers on stage, and eventually break into splinters, courtesy of a 50 inch plasma screen disguised as a looking-glass.
Mission accomplished, Stephen was back in our studios again in no time at all, this time recording narration for part of his major new BBC series ‘Stephen Fry in America’.
