Awards Hat-trick for JMS

12th May 2009

JMS has picked-up the Creative East Best Non-Broadcast Programme Award for the third time! The Award, presented at a glitzy black-tie gala hosted by Clive Anderson, was for our production commemorating the restoration of Newcastle's High Level Bridge by engineering contractor May Gurney. The challenge for JMS was to produce an engaging and brief production about a very complex 7-year engineering project AFTER the project had finished and the workforce had disbanded! And to produce a programme about a Tyneside icon when you're based in East Anglia increased the challenge still further.

Script, theme music, and 3D graphics were all created in house, and the soundtrack, magnificently performed by veteran Geordie actor Tim Healy was also recorded and mixed in house. The edit was carried out by Senior Editor Tom Mountford, who collected the Award on the evening. Jonathan Powell, veteran BBC Producer and Chairman of the judging panel, in a very positive accolade, commended the programme for its high quality graphics and amusing script and narration. But most gratifying was his comment that JMS had proved that corporate video could be entertaining even when dealing with technical subjects. We're confident this is the key reason JMS has been the East's first choice for corporate video for 25 years. And now we have yet another Award to prove it!
