
Studio A in Norwich was our first-ever sound suite. At first it was all tape recording and vinyl discs, but it had to adapt to digital recording and CD. Having begun life as a radio studio, it spent time increasingly as a video and TV soundtrack facility. Whilst it coped well with each upgrade, compromises had to be made. So at last Studio A has been re-built.
Everything has been renewed, from the flooring to the lighting, the refreshed acoustic tiling to the ergonomically designed work surfaces, and above all Pro-Tools recording and editing, plus LCD picture monitoring. Studio A is at last a TV facility which can also produce top-quality radio commercials. The voice-area feels brighter and more spacious, but it retains its superb, crisp acoustic.
