Anglian Water | 2D Animation For Social Media
Animation for Public Sector Marketing Project
The East of England has some of the UK’s most beautiful coastline in the UK, and Anglian Water want to help keep it that way. Anglian Water commissioned JMS Group to come up with a creative and humorous 2D animation for release on World Oceans Day. The lyrics and music score were composed and recorded by JMS Group.
Using animation in public sector marketing – especially for wider social causes such as World Oceans Day – offers numerous benefits that effectively engage and inform the public:
Enhanced Engagement and Retention: Animation has the power to capture attention and maintain viewer interest better than static images or text. The dynamic and visually appealing nature of animated videos can make complex issues like ocean conservation more accessible and engaging.
Simplification of Complex Messages: Animation allows for the simplification of intricate topics. For World Oceans Day, issues such as marine pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss can be distilled into easily digestible visual narratives that resonate with a broader audience.
Emotional Appeal: Animated characters and humorous scenarios can evoke emotional responses. By creating relatable and emotionally impactful stories, animations can inspire viewers to take action and support ocean conservation efforts.
Versatility and Creativity: Animation offers limitless creative possibilities. It can illustrate underwater scenes, visualise the sources of pollution, or show positive future outcomes of conservation efforts, all of which might be challenging to capture through live-action footage.
Share-ability: Animated videos are highly shareable across various platforms, including social media, websites, and educational forums. Their entertaining and informative nature encourages viewers to share them, increasing the reach and impact of the message.
